Typefighters Looks to Bring a Battle of Words to Steam
Think you’re a good typist?
Think you’re a good typist? Ever wanted to try a typing competition to see just how well you stack up against other keyboardists? Typefighters will give you the chance to prove that you’re a QWERTY champion.
Typefighters is the creation of independent German game developer Christian Reuter, a longtime typing enthusiast. The casual arcade game allows two players to battle each other in one of eight modes. Your only weapon is your own typing ability, and the assorted modes focus on different skills. Accuracy and speed are important, of course, but so are things like tactics, creativity, and whether you can anticipate the moves of your opponent.
With cross-platform multiplayer options for users of Windows, Linux, and Mac, Typefighters can finally settle any question of who is the best and fastest typist amongst friends. Teachers can also use the game as a typing instruction tool, injecting some fun into the lessons. With the option to add your own word lists, it’s easy to customize the game into additional languages and create special, extra challenges.
Typefighters is currently on Steam Greenlight, waiting for enough votes for full release. If you’re interested in trying the game before giving it your nod of approval, there is a free playable demoavailable for all three platforms, featuring four of the eight modes of gameplay. Try it today, give it a vote if you like what you see, and watch the official Twitteraccount for more news and updates.
