announced that the magnetic puzzle platformer will be released for the PlayStation 3 later on this year. The PlayStation release will come in hand with Teslagrad’s release on the Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. The announcement further reinforces Sony’s interestin cementing independently developed video games on the PlayStation 3 as well as the next-gen PlayStation 4.
“It is a big step for a small Indie company to leave the safe playground of PC gaming, and go out into the big- boy company arena of consoles,” Rain Games said in their blog post. “It has been pretty clear to us that Sony is doing it’s best to make us, and probably other indies too, feel welcome on their platforms.” The developers go on to comment that their decision to develop Teslagrad using Unity has been a big help in porting the game to the console.
On the Steam Greenlight front, Rain Games is making some pretty impressive progress. After launching the Greenlight campaign a little over two weeks ago, Teslagrad has risen to be within the top 100 games by positive vote count. “…we hope we keep enough wind in our sales to stand the race to the finish,” Rain Games commented.
