This is how Valve's Steam Controller is built -- by robots

You may have noticed that Valve published a neat promotional video to its YouTube channel this week showcasing how its Steam controllers are assembled by robots in an Illinois industrial facility.

The video is above, and you can read a bit more about how it came to be in Valve's recent.

There's some good anecdotes in that post about how the Steam community is finding ways to use the controller's unique input scheme (tilting it to use the gyro sensor for fine aiming, for example) that may help developers create a better Steam Controller configuration for their own games.

Roughly a month after its November launch the Steam Controller still isn't widely supported by Steam devs, so creating an official Steam Controller configuration profile for your game is an easy way to stand out from the crowd.
