Video: You're Doing It Wrong - 10 pieces of advice on game design

Game design is tricky business.

After ten years of jolly shouting, the perennially popular GDC rant session ended at GDC 2014 with a blowout "Rant Apocalypse" that featured game designer Frank Lantz (among others) cheerfully excoriating popular game design practices.

Lantz offers ten pieces of advice for game designers in under five minutes, and makes a decent argument for each of them. The designer and educator takes shots at everything from difficulty in games to attempts by anyone (including himself) to boil down the complicated process of honing your game design skills to a series of quick tips.

It's a fun, inspiring talk that's worth watching, and now you can do so for free over on the official GDC YouTube channel.
