Thimbleweed Park Makes Old School Point-and-Click Feel Brand New

In news that will delight many point-and-click adventure fans, former LucasArts developers Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick have reunited forces for a brand new point-and-click game that captures the magic of the famous verb interface and retro art style found in classics like Maniac Mansion , Day of the Tentacle , and The Secret of Monkey Island .

Thimbleweed Park is described as a game that makes you feel like you’ve opened up an old dusty drawer, and found an old LucasArts adventure game you’ve never played before.

The story centers around two detectives that have been called in to investigate a dead body that was found right at the outskirts of the desolate Thimbleweed Park. The town once boasted an opulent hotel, a vibrant business, and the state’s largest pillow factory, but nowadays it seems to go on existing for no real reason. It is the place no one looks for, but everyone seems to find. There will be five playable characters in Thimbleweek Park including:

Dolores, who starts out with her siblings at the reading of her rich uncle’s will Franklin, who wakes up dead on the 13th floor of the Edmund hotel with no idea how he got there and Ransome the Clown, who has been afflicted with cursed make-up that he can never remove

Thimbleweed Park has already reached its Kickstartergoal, but there is still time to back the game if you’re interested in getting an early copy of it, or the many other possible reward tiers.
