Molyneux’s Project ‘Godus’ Reaches Kickstarter Goal, Introduces Stretch Goals
Peter Molyneux’s studio 22cans has recently reached its £450,000 Kickstarter goal for Godus , a spiritual successor to Molyneux’s classic game Populous .
. The Project Godus Kickstarter reached its goal with a little under two days to go, and now has some stretch goals to reward current and potential backers.
At first it looked as if Godus wouldn’t make its Kickstartergoal, but after a strong PR wave of videos, it was enough to get users to throw down some cash.
Project Godus currently sits at £500,000 – earning four out of the five stretch goals that were established. Some of those are extra game modes, features, and bringing on an award winning writer. The last stretch goal is at £550,000 and will bring Linux and Ouya support. With just under 10 hours to go it may not make it, but to see it get funded is great for those who are looking forward to another Populous -like game.
