While time-travel is a mechanic that is frequently used in many video games, there are still numerous remaining avenues for game developers to explore.

RoboWarp, created by indie developer Mandel Duck , is a game that takes time-travel in a somewhat unusual direction.

In RoboWarp you play as the adorable robot Kink as he travels throughout time and space, solving physics-based puzzles in an attempt to retrieve his precious rubber duck. Kink’s quest to retrieve his bath-time buddy spans across three unique worlds, and this is where Kink’s ability to travel through time comes into play. Puzzles in RoboWarp cannot simply be solved by running and jumping about. Instead, you must travel back and forth through time, manipulating the environment as you go.

Each world has two different versions of itself, a past and a future instance, which differ greatly from each other. In the past, the laboratory is new and shiny, with all of the machinery in perfect working order. In the future, however, the lab is old and derelict; the machinery rusted and broken. It’s up to you to to travel back and forth between the two time periods, utilizing your ability to solve the puzzles as fast as you can.
