Fantastic Contraption devs speak to the thrill of making VR games
"It's incredibly fun to work in VR, because nobody knows what they're doing.
- Colin Northway, co-founder of Northway Games.
A number of game developers appeared onstage at The Game Awards last night, some on-screen as subjects of brief profile videos from Breakwater Studios that are part of Unity's ongoing "Made with Unity" promotional effort.
Sarah and Colin Northway, the husband-and-wife team who build indie games from around the worldunder the label Northway Games, popped up in one of the videos to call on fellow game makers -- and, presumably, creators of all stripes -- to embrace virtual reality as a place to develop creative, innovative work.
It's a neat little video that promotes the work and perspective of two notable indie developers, and in the larger sense it represents Unity's ongoing efforts to promote its platform's VR development capabilities ahead of the commercial debut of multiple VR headsets next year.
You can find Breakwater's Northway Games video alongside others featuring indie developers like Friend & Foe ( Vane ) and Atmos Games ( Pinstripe ) over on Unity's YouTube channel.
