Video: How Other Ocean made #IDARB (and you can too!)

"Where to go with this?" is the question, posed on Twitter with a screenshot of a red box, that kicked off Other Ocean's crash course in crowdsourcing and ultimately led to the creation of its hit multiplayer game #IDARB .

As part of the GDC 2015 Game Career Seminar's 'Micromortems' session, Other Ocean's Mike Mika and Frank Cifaldi took the stage to share lessons learned during the process and playfully break down the design process of #IDARB .

It's a good story about how the online multiplayer "sport that requires a TV" started as a fun project -- until the online community begged them to turn it into a game. Cifaldi and Mika walk through every step and misstep of the process in their talk, which ends up being an informative look at some of the contemporary challenges of indie game development.

If you missed it in person, you can now watch it for free over on the GDC Vault's YouTube channel.
