Ashes of the Singularity Comes to Early Access This Month

Stardock Entertainment is bringing what they say is the first native 64-bit Real Time Strategy game to PC.

Ashes of the Singularity is purported to be both good-looking and able to display a lot of units at once, which is something every RTS aspires to do.

Ashes of the Singularity puts players on another planet with a single base, and tasks them with constructing, gathering, and fighting across said planet until every last enemy has been destroyed.

The game is being built in Oxide Games’ new Nitrous engine, which is apparently better able to work within the infrastructure of multi-core PCs; taking full advantage of the power of multiple cores in a computer’s processor was previously one of the only problems with a multi-core CPU. In addition to the native 64-bit and the game’s utilization of the relatively untapped DirectX12 API, this means the game should be able to take full advantage of modern gaming hardware.

Ashes of the Singularity will be releasing through Steam’s Early Access program this month, on October 22nd. Those interested in the game, and in seeing more of the concept art, can pop over to the game’s website. The game will be launching at an Early Access price of $39.99 USD, 20% below the eventually permanent price of $49.99.
