Yesterday, Valve announced another pack of titles accepted through the Steam Greenlight platform. The titles, including Kickstarter successes Pulse and Drifter , will be released on the Steam platform upon completion.
The criteria used to pick these titles proves to the public that Greenlit titles are not just based on votes. From the Steam Community page of the announcement: “These titles were selected on the same criteria we have been using in the past: Votes in Greenlight give us a hugely valuable point of data in gauging community interest along with external factors such as press reviews, crowd-funding successes, performance on other similar platforms, and awards and contests to help form a more complete picture of community interest in each title. ”
Drifter, a Kickstarter successfrom before Steam Greenlight was even around, was included in this batch. The game is a space trading simulator still in Beta. Pulseis an IGF finalist that lets you play as a blind character, using sounds in the environment to locate the world around you. The Yawhgis a narrative game that provides a bit of a twist on a quick D&D game. All three of these games will be on Steam at some point in the near future.
