Supercell sees revenue hit $2.33 billion in 2015
Clash of Clans developer Supercell has laid out its financial results for 2015, revealing it generated €2.12 billion ($2.33 billion) in revenue, and profits of €848 million ($964 million).
By comparison, in 2014 the company reported revenue of €1.55 billion ($1.78 billion) and profits of €515 million ($592 million).
Those healty financials are the second piece of good news this week for the mobile juggernaut, which on Monday revealed its entire video game catalog now brings in 100 million daily active players.
Recent data also indicates that the studio's flagship release, Clash of Clans , brought in the most global revenueacross iOS and Google Play in 2015.
According to Supercell CEO, Ilkka Paananen, the most impressive thing about today's results is that they were achieved with a team of just 180 people.
"Today we are 180 people where most people know each other by name, and where people work in small & independent teams, in a zero bureaucracy environment," said Paananen.
"I am incredibly proud of our people whose passion for excellence has lead to this success. They set the bar extremely high for themselves and want to make the best games possible. I am so lucky to be able to work with them, and in an environment like this."
Paananen revealed Supercell paid its employees a dividend of €14 ($15.50) per share, resulting in a total payout of €603 million ($669 million). The developer has also initiated a share buyback scheme from its employees amounting to €114 million ($128 million) this year.
