World Zombination – Which Side of the Apocalypse Will You Be On?
I love zombies.
I love zombies. It’s as simple as that. Since they first clawed their way out of whatever dank grave they were hiding in, countless games, films, books and popular culture references have been spawned in their honour. World Zombination , Proletariat ‘s iOS, Android, Mac and PC game – currently in pre-alpha – will be added to this list before long, and I’m ready to dig my teeth into it. IGM has already been feasting on World Zombination on over Indie Gameplay, where Proletariat have their own Content Hub.
As you can probably tell, I’m looking forward to World Zombination , and so I’m more than likely to write an article that makes less sense that a zombie trying to have a conversation through a mouthful of brains. Luckily, Proletariat have put together a great video showing off some pre-alpha gameplay, and it has a voiceover that explains every aspect of the game in great detail.
In summary, you’ll be able to take control of a group of survivors, or zombies, if you’d prefer, and strategise your way to total control of an area through careful consideration of your characters and their different skills. As the infected, it is your job to take down all of the remaining survivors in an area, destroying key buildings as you do so. As survivors, you’ll need to protect yourselves and your objectives from the onslaught of the dead. This will take place in a ‘shared, persistent MMO world’ meaning that the battle between the living and the dead will always be raging on a global scale.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll be glad to know that the beta for World Zombination is expected in the Spring, at which point anyone that has joined the mailing list on the game’s websitemay get a closer look at this dual-sided apocalypse. Join me, won’t you?
