Civilization 6 shows off China’s leader Qin Shi Huang and The Great Wall
The latest trailer for Firaxis' turn-based 4X strategy 'em up Civilization 6 showcases China, and it'll bring to the battlefield on October 21.
Dynastic Cycles are the eastern nation's special ability this time round, and, leading the charge as ruthless emperor Qin Shi Huang—the man responsible the wonderfully weird Terrecota Army—this power means Eurekas and Inspirations will offer larger boosts in comparison to other civs.
“Qin is a ruler who gets things done,” says the trailer below which in the world of Civ means his builders are given an additional use. Which is just as well, because the China's Unique Improvement in Civilization 6 is The Great Wall—meaning it starts the game with boosted defence and gold. As time marches on, this perk also extends to culture and tourism.
On the offensive front, China’s Unique Unit is the Crouching Tiger cannon—a high-powered, short-ranged attacking front—which apparently doesn’t require specific resources to produce, according to the following video.
As can be seen towards the trailer's end there, China shares some tactical similarities with rival Egypt, however can be much more defensive and insular—which is mostly down to The Great Wall. “Keep in mind,” says the trailer above. “As it’s a tile improvement, you’ll be required to keep dedicating builders to the task of expanding it.”
Civilization 6 is due to launch October 21. Here’s everything you need to know.
