Video: Exploring the art direction of Ninja Theory's Devil May Cry

Back in 2013, British studio Ninja Theory released its own spin on a very popular franchise: Devil May Cry .

Putting your own spin on an established setting is tricky business, and at GDC 2013 Ninja Theory's Alessandro "Talexi" Taini spoke to how fashion, music, architecture and other forms of art influenced the studio's efforts to bring the game into the "here and now."

It was a neat talk that walked through the beginnings of the process, from concept and inspiration, through to the 3D realization of the game's bright and bold art style.

If you missed the art-heavy presentation in person, now's your chance to watch the whole thing for free via the official GDC YouTube channel.
