RuGBoT Cuts a Rug on Kickstarter
Jumptoplay has just announced their new game, RuGBoT , which tasks players with scoring touchdowns using baby robots.
In RuGBoT , the robotic race has developed at such a pace that the production of baby robots is no longer enough to support the various Roboplanets. Because of this, a “Rugbot” tournament is held yearly, with the prize (and the ball) being baby robots. The game puts players in control of a robot, and pops a little baby bot into the playing field. The full-sized robots fight to grab the roughly spherical robot, sprint through space and past obstacles, and score a goal — either by throwing the baby bot into their goal, or flying it in for a touchdown.
Jumptoplay is launching their Kickstarter today (Wednesday, October 7th,), and they’re looking for €14,000 (approximately $15, 737 USD) to keep their development going. At the various reward tiers, they’re offering early bird copies of the game, beta access, bundles of (DRM-free) copies of the game, a digital art book, and the ability to help design any of a few aspects of the game itself. The game is currently planned to release on both Mac and Windows PC.
The campaign runs from now until November 5th. Those interested can head over to the Kickstarter pagenow to make their pledge. More can be learned about the game either from the Kickstarter, the above video, Jumptoplay’s website, or the RuGBoT Greenlight page.
