Puzzle Warriors Adventure: Not Just Another Puzzle Game

With a vast array of puzzle games to choose from on the App Store, it can be difficult to decide which to download. Most are pretty straight forward: You solve the puzzle and move on to the next level, and try to beat all the challenges. Puzzle Warriors Adventure from Casual Immersions Entertainment offers something more than just that. Set to release in a little over a month, this is a game focused on not only solving puzzles, but exploring a world much like in an RPG.

Players will choose their character and begin to explore the Kingdom of Four-Haven, navigating through tunnels, dungeons, villages and more. During exploration, players will pick up keys to unlock doors, while acquiring treasure and items to use in battle. Puzzles come into play during enemy encounters. After beginning a battle, players will engage in a mini-game which is much like Tetris . Jewels of varying colors and combinations will fall from above, and it’s the player’s job to match them up in groups. Once enough jewels are grouped together, they will disappear and make way for other groups. The enemy is doing this simultaneously as well; every time players make a successful group, they impede their enemy’s progress, much like in Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine .

What makes this difficult is the different enemy types, as each different enemy presents a new challenge to puzzle solving. Some enemies will destroy jewels on the player’s side, and others will continually put up barriers that serves as obstacles to skirt around. The first one to run out of room for jewels loses. Victory offers the opportunity to potentially capture your foe, and keep them for use in future battles. Using these creatures and other obtained items will help ensure victory in the future (and more difficult) encounters.
