Endless Roguelike Brawler ‘Quadropus Rampage’ Makes Its Way Onto PC And Mac

Developer Butterscotch Shenanigans has ported their roguelike brawler, Quadropus Rampage , onto the PC and Mac platforms. Released earlier this summer for Android and iOS devices, Quadropus Rampage has players battling through level after level of sea creatures, in an attempt to get to the bottom of the ocean, and defeat the notorious King Pete.

We reviewed Quadropus Rampage previously and really enjoyed the game. In the weeks following the game’s release, Quadropus Rampage has been patched, and additional game modes and perks have been added, providing additional replay value to the already free-to-play title.

However, the new PC and Mac versions of Quadropus Rampage are not free to play. Butterscotch Shenanigans told IGM that the reason for the switch in payment models was that to convert the in-app purchases from the mobile version to a PC/Mac version would have been too time consuming, so instead they added a $5 price tag and an artificial boost that will compensate PC/Mac players as if they had spent the $5 in the mobile version.

“Our PC players should see equal or faster progression relative to someone who paid $5.00 for orbs/doubloons on the mobile version,” Butterscotch Shenanigans told us.

The developers went on to confirm that there are no major differences in between the two versions, content-wise.

“We wanted to wait until we were essentially done adding content to the game before launching it on PC/Mac, so we could just put it out there as a last hoorah before moving on to our next project.”
