Create Your Own Games With Flowlab
Have you ever come up with an idea for a game and thought ‘nah, I’d never be able to make it’?
Have you ever come up with an idea for a game and thought ‘nah, I’d never be able to make it’? I can honestly say I’ve asked myself that a few times over the years, which makes a new web based game creator called Flowlab very intriguing.
Designed by Ken Railey , Flowlab allows you to create sprite based projects through any web brower (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) without having to download or install any extra software. Your creations can then be played online or exported to both iPhone and iPad.
The video below gives you an idea of what to expect, with a simple to use mouse/keyboard controls not unlike a typical piece of photo editing software. Speaking of which, there’s a complete sprite editor included, along with an integrated physics engine and visual logic designer.
Flowlab has recently released within an open beta phase, which you can sign up via the official website for free as well as download and try some creative examples to give you an idea of what the editor can do. Premium plan based upgrades also available, increasing the amount of projects you can create as well as providing a few extra incentives, especially the option to upload to the App Store .
Keep in mind, however, that you do require a developer membership in order to submit apps, otherwise any Flowlab creations can be played online on your web browser. If you do sign up for Flowlab , let us know your progress and creations via our official forums, we’re very keen to see the results. In the meantime, you can visit the official Flowlab website here. We’ll have more on Flowlab very soon.
