Flip Out for Escape From Space Shredder
Escape From Space Shredder is a new puzzle-platformer from developer Samuel Unknown.
is a new puzzle-platformer from developer Samuel Unknown. In it, you control an astronaut and a self-aware spacesuit who have been attacked by a malfunctioning robot. As a result, you have been sent into a rather extensive and labyrinthine recycling machine, and you’ll have to find your way out before you get turned into a soda can.
The main mechanic of the game is the player’s ability to control which way is down. With it, you can fly across the room, shift mobile objects from one place to another, and generally solve puzzles and avoid death with creative gravitational alterations. The goal of each level is apparently to reach a flashing green block, which sends you to the next level, and so on. Obstacles range from deathly cubes you can accidentally land on, to the classic spiked balls swinging around blocks, to mobile spheres which you have to move with gravity to avoid colliding with. There are also plenty of puzzles, most of which involve classic puzzle game tropes, like collecting a key that’s on one end of the level, which you need for a lock on the other end of the level.
Escape From Space Shredder is out now for just $2 USD on Samuel Unknown’s page(you can pay more if you would like to support the developer), has both English and Russian language settings, and is available for Windows or Linux (though the developer notes that the game has only been tested on Ubuntu 14.04), so if you feel like getting shredded in space, you should head over to the game’s pageand give it a try.
