Screenshot Weekly – Dead Synchronicity, Kiwi64, Warriors of Belirium
Welcome back to Screenshot Weekly !
! Every Tuesday, IGM brings you exclusive early looks at upcoming games in various stages of development. The featured image introducing each game will always be original, and made especially for IGM, so you’ll see them for the first time right here! Without further ado, let’s take a look at this week’s screenshots:
Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow comes Today
Fictiorama Studios, the team behind Dead Synchronicity , is a 4-man team founded by three brothers: Alberto, Luis, and Mario Oliván. Driven by a devotion to graphic adventures, the team set out to create point-and-click stories with darker, grittier tones that they describe as “ Guybrush meets Mad Max meets 12 Monkeys “. With that idea in mind, the first installment of Dead Synchronicity – in what is proposed as a continuing series – is Tomorrow comes Today . Featuring HD cutscenes, an “open-world” level of freedom, and a soundtrack composed by alternative rock band Kovalski – of which two of the Oliván brothers are members – Dead Synchronicity is a dystopian, sci-fi, expressionist, mature take on point-and-click . Details can be found on the website, and the game’s progress can be tracked on Twitterand Facebook.
Kiwi64
A pure and simple love letter to the bygone era of collect-a-thon platformers, even Kiwi64 ‘s title is supposed to invoke a sense of nostalgia. Explained to be a “tribute/parody of the late 90’s N64 games, especially Rareware’s games like Banjo-Kazooie ,” Kiwi64 includes all of the mechanics you might expect: A world that can be explored in any order, NPCs scattered throughout who offer side-quests, and of course, lowpoly models and N64-era textures. Combat-wise, Kiwi posseses the ability to jump and attack, and can even attack while airborne. (Why was that ever NOT an option? Oh, platformers…) Follow solo dev Marcus “Siactro” Horn on Twitterfor more information.
Warriors of Belirium
Caught in a war between the two kingdoms, spurred by the classic Romeo and Juliet romance between the princess of Altiria and the prince of Belirium, the realm of Belirium enlists the aid of a mercenary to help turn the tide of battle against the superior forces of Altiria. It seems the king of Altiria does not approve of said relationship-turned-eloped-marriage, and Belirium has little interest in handing the princess back over to daddy dearest. Set two years into the war, Warriors of Belirium is a action-RPG dungeon explorer by Pixel Pascal Studio, with an active battle system and optional side-quests to embark on. Keep up with the game’s progress on IndieDB.
