Kingdom Come: Deliverance Offers First-Person Sword Combat at E3
The Czech developers at Warhorse Studios will soon reveal more details about their upcoming game Kingdom Come: Deliverance .
. The game is a realistic, open world, first-person medieval RPG that was funded in 2014 via Kickstarter. In a recent update, a teaser of the Tech Alpha 0.4 was released, showing how combat will work in-game. The Alpha version will debut at this year’s E3 (June 16-18).
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a single-player RPG set in 15th century Europe. The Kingdom is facing an eminent crisis. The lack of a real king, corrupted nobility wanting to take over, and a divided aristocracy set the tone of the game. A hero, who is controlled by the player, wants to restore order and avenge his beloved’s death fighting the army of the king’s brother. “But beware – this is not a fantasy fairytale and you are not the chosen one.” warns the game’s description.
From time to time, the developers release a new Tech Alpha, which is made for demonstrating some game mechanics and general game technology to backers who pledged at the Baron Tier or higher through crowdfunding ($45+). At this year’s E3, the first-person sword combat will be showcased for visitors as part of the new Tech Alpha, which will later be available for those backers. A demo can be seen in the trailer above, showing how tackles, swings, rebounds, and recoil will work.
The game’s release is planned for Summer 2016 on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, and PS4, while an Early Access version is set for late-2015 on PC only. Those interested in backing Kingdom Come: Deliverance and reading more about the game can visit their official website.
