Bring the World Back to Life in Refunct
Refunct is the successor of Refunktion , a hardcore first-person stealth platformer with exploration and speedrunning elements that was released last year.
Refunct is geared towards players of every age and skill set. It’s still a first-person platformer, however there is no precedence for speed running or stealth. In fact, the game has no enemies for players to avoid or fight. The player’s goal is to restore the world, bringing it back to a vibrant state. They can do this by running, jumping, swimming, and sliding around the world.
The art style of the game is simplistic. When a player presses one of the big red buttons, that section of the world becomes alive. For instance, a section that was once grey is turned into a lush green grassy knoll. The platforms which house these buttons will move and shift causing the player to have find a way to reach their objective. The soundtrack for the game is composed by Singto “Kristofferson” Conley, whose songs are geared to relax and immerse the player into the world of the game. There are no tutorials, so players are encouraged to explore and experiment, turning the world into their own personal playground.
Refunct is set to release October 16th on Windows PC via Steamfor $2.99 (USD. To learn more about the game visit the official website, and follow on Twitter. To learn more about the developer Dominique Grieshofer, visit his website, and follow him on Twitter.
