Above the placid, ivory snow lies a quiet village brimming with the promise of adventure, and good old fashioned snowboarding. Developers Snowman are keeping a tight lid on the specifics of Alto’s Adventure, but so far, we do know that it is an endless runner with a dynamic weather and lighting system.
As Snowman revealed to Cult of Macback in May, Alto’s Adventure was born out of a passion to see a snowboarding game that was “fluid, natural, and just felt good to ride .” The game was built on the Unity game engine, and strives to focus not on the arcade style tone that many games adopt, but rather a minimal, evocative approach that speaks to the heart. A number of different types of terrain have been constructed, ranging from high, chilling alpine slopes, to sun-washed valleys of lower altitudes. Early screenshots of the game suggest that players will have the opportunity to take to the snow with six unique characters-one of whom does not appear to be human. Could this be Alto?
Follow the game on Twitterand get on board their Facebookpage to unveil more of the mystery of Alto’s Adventure , which is coming soon to iOS devices. And make sure you take a look at the official website, which contains its own secrets (try clicking on the bird and see what happens!).
