Classic Adventure Gaming Duo Teams Up Once Again For ‘SpaceVenture’

In the land of video game development where the only law is “survival of the fittest”, the fittest being the multibillion dollar companies like Activision and Electronic Arts , it’s become more and more difficult for independent developers to make a name for themselves.

, it’s become more and more difficult for independent developers to make a name for themselves.  That’s why Kickstarter has become one of the best things to happen to indie gaming in recent years.  The most recent example of this is the formation of the new development studio Guys from Andromeda , a partnership between two men trying to bring a top-notch, old-school adventure game to modern audiences.

Mark Crow and Scott Murphy, the minds behind the Space Quest series of the 1980s and 90s, have teamed up once again to give the world another space-adventure-comedy titled SpaceVenture .  The game, which will be released simultaneously on PC, Mac, iOS and Android operating systems, is being funded via Kickstarter.  Before they start work on the game the pair are asking for $500,000, which they hope to have by June 12.  At the moment they are almost half way to their goal, and there are still 22 days to go until their deadline.

Contributors to the project will receive a variety of rewards for their financial gifts based on a tiered system.  These rewards range from a downloadable copy of the game for a $15 donation to an illustrated alien version of you which will be featured on the game’s box art for a $7,500 donation.

There’s still a lot of time left in the campaign, so what are you waiting for?  Get out there and support the.
