Foxtail Points and Clicks Towards its IndieGoGo Campaign
Foxtail is a new point-and-click adventure game from the developers at Gingertips.
is a new point-and-click adventure game from the developers at Gingertips. As the title suggests, the game features a fox as the main character. Leah is on her way to visit her grandmother who, like all grandmothers, lives in in a mountain village far, far away from where her family lives.
The game is rendered in a highly-detailed pixel art style, as the developers wanted to pay homage to their favorite adventure games: The Legend of Kyrandia, Monkey Island, and King’s Quest. Everything in the game has been hand-crafted by the developers.
The problem Gingertips faces, as with so many indie developers, is a matter of money. In order to make the game as they envision it, Gingertips needs an influx of money to allow them to work on the game full-time, rather than in their spare time. As such, they have taken to IndieGoGoto crowdfund the game. They’re asking for $60,000 EUR (~$66,000 USD), with reward tiers that range from a “Thank You” or copy of the game to natural, leather-bound diaries for those who really want to get into the game.
Foxtail was recently Greenlit by the Steam community, and the IndieGoGo campaign aims to make the game available for at least Mac, Windows, and Linux, with a stretch goal aimed at bringing it to Android and iOS devices. Those interested in supporting the development of the game can add their voice, and some money from their wallet, to the IndieGoGo campaign.
