Getting A Bad Rap: Lunar Giant Working on Game With Rapper
Forgive me if I’m being over-presumptious, but I’ve no doubt that rap music is popular nowadays.
Forgive me if I’m being over-presumptious, but I’ve no doubt that rap music is popular nowadays. But that’s not all that’s well regarded. There are also those little things we call video games that just so happen to be enjoying exponential growth at the moment.
Put the two together, though, and you usually get such marvellous gaming sensations as 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand and DefJam Rapstar , neither of which exactly set a promising precedent for future gaming crossovers into the popular music industry. However, Lunar Giant are hoping to be part of a scheme that bucks the trend, and they’ve joined forces with Raheem Jarbo, more commonly known as Random, to do so.
Entitled Language ArtsRaheem Jarbo, the project is geared towards combining the media of music, comic books and video games in a seamless, intertwining package. While the album and comic will focus on a semi-realistic biopic of Random’s life, the video game will take the form of a 2D side-scrolling platformer, and it’s currently slated for release on PC, iOS and Android once it’s completed.
The programme is currently being backed up by a Kickstarter project, which you can take a look at here.
