is a successful PC and iOS game that launched in mid-2012. Originally for the iOS, it was then relaunched on the Wii U and remastered for PC in 2013, and is now looking to revitalize itself on the PS Vita. With its roots set firmly in touch-screen controls, Nihilumbra should translate quite naturally to the Vita’s control system.
Players take on the role of Born, a being created from a type of anti-matter called The Void, otherwise known as the great black nothingness. As Born, players will venture out across five separate worlds, trying to escape The Void on their journey to freedom as it seeks to re-engulf them into its unending maw to restore balance and ultimately consume them.
Mixing in some additional elements to distance itself from the typical platformer genre, Nihilumbra features environment-changing powers; players can master the use of five separate colors in the game to solve increasingly complex puzzles, and can also use them in combat to dispatch enemies. The game allows players the ability to paint anywhere they would like, and experiment with multiple solutions to every puzzle to add some complexity to the gameplay style.
The game is available now for both the American ($9.99) and European ( € 8.99) markets, and is tentatively slated for Q1 2015 in Japan via the Playstation Store.
