ORBB – Challenging Gameplay in the Silent Calm of Space
Indie development studio MochiBits is set to release their game ORBB on October 9th.
ORBB is a type of puzzler that the developers created with the intention of meshing challenging gameplay with a relaxing atmosphere.
Each level of ORBB will be made up of a number of planets floating in the dark of space, a few twinkling stars spread out between the planets, and a ball of light that the player controls. They are then tasked with clearing the system of these stars using the ball of light by launching it from the surface of a planet. The light will then move and curve continuously through space until it lands on another planet. The light will spin around the planet until the player launches it again, requiring suitable hand-eye coordination for accurate launches. MochiBits incorporates challenges by providing time achievements in each of the 60 levels the game will provide, which will require strategic thinking and accurate timing.
ORBB ’s minimalist gameplay style is also coupled with the detail and style of the game’s art, which is designed to appear as if the player is looking through the lens of the Hubble Telescope as they play the game.
ORBB will soon be released for iOS and Android mobile devices for $2.99. The game will feature no ads or in-app purchases, along with original music from Whitaker Trebella, the creator of Pivvot and Polymer .
