In this cubist puzzler you guide a square-ish headed hero through a series of difficult, yet satisfying, puzzles.
Looking promising and deviously puzzling, Test Chamber by Shark Jump Studioshas made its way onto Android devices.
In this cubist puzzler you guide a square-ish headed hero through a series of difficult, yet satisfying, puzzles. In order to reach the end of each level you will find yourself pushing blocks to make bridges, finding your away around force fields and generally staring dumbfounded at your screen.
Test Chamber features some quirky story elements; featuring eye-patch wearing NPCs, a damsel in distress, a mysterious dark stranger and a god-damn adorable protagonist.
The game also features a host of unlockable content once you finish it; like the ‘dark levels’ which feature multi-stage puzzles and obstacles that were deemed too complicated or ‘unfair’ for the main game. So, dark world could well be an apt name for it.
Test Chamber is Shark Jump Studio’s second game after developing Flap the Fish, a Flappy Bird (ugh) clone that actually improved a lot on the standard visuals you might find in one of those games. Test Chamber appears to prove that Shark Jump Studios can deliver on some in-depth and interesting gameplay while still retaining some of the studio’s unique charm, which seems to be an emerging trend in their work.
You can find Test Chamber on the Google Play store here, and for those iOS user among you, keep your eyes trained on the App store: it’ll be there soon.
