Video: Watch notable strategy game designers talk shop at PRACTICE 2013
Soren Johnson ( Civilization IV ), Brad Muir ( Massive Chalice ) and Keith Burgun ( 100 Rogues ) gave an interesting series of brief back-to-back talks about their different approaches to making strategy games at New York University last year, and the video is now available on NYU's Vimeo channel for everyone to see.
Together the three designers talk for just over an hour, covering subjects like the value of transparent systems in strategy games, the challenges -- and benefits -- of sharing your game development process with the public via regular livestreams, and more.
The talks were given as part of NYU's PRACTICE 2013 conference. The conference, which has been held annually since its debutin November of 2011, brings together recognized and rising talent in the industry to share knowledge about how to best tackle the day-to-day challenges of game design.
You can watch more recorded lectures, roundtable discussions and other presentations featuring folks like Michael Broughand Rob Daviauon the NYU Game Center's Vimeo channel.
