Eqidz Releases Peppy Pals To Reduce Bullying and Raise Emotional Intelligence
Eqidz has just released their first game, Peppy Pals , for the iOS in an attempt to reduce bullying by providing young children with a way to improve their emotional intelligence (EQ).
Peppy Pals is a simple yet fun point-and-click game for children ages 2-6. The game has no text or language in order to focus on subtle social and emotional skills, such as friendship, empathy, and understanding. By allowing children to see emotions through facial expressions and in ‘cause-and-effect’ relationships, they can learn and be better prepared for social interaction.
The game revolves around four cute young animal friends in the relaxed atmosphere of a comfortable farm. The player can focus on one of the four characters, and help them out through different simple scenarios while witnessing their different emotional expressions. Children can also spend time playing with each animal in order to understand and identify each facial expression and emotional reaction, or they can play one of the mini-games, such as free-style drawing, or coloring.
Rosie Linder, the founder of Eqidz, decided to focus her team’s efforts toward developing games that were both entertaining and educational for children in new and unique ways. With the release of the game, the team is now shifting gears a touch and planning on making Peppy Pals available for Android, PC, and Mac.
