is a new game by Skydome Entertainment that takes real-time strategy to an unexpected (and awesome) place. Starting out from primordial pools, players (as intelligent insectoids) build “nests” as home bases and strike out to conquer the surrounding areas in much the same way as an insect colony. Upgrading the nest using experience gained through both combat and exploration ensures long-term success, and those upgrades are necessary to face some of the enemies you encounter in the underground networks of this highly-detailed world.

Discover abandoned ruins and temples to gain ancient knowledge used to defeat modern enemies, and adjust adequately to the challenges you face in order to take complete control of an area. The game has many endings in single-player campaign, with 13 different maps in different types of environments, making it endlessly replayable.

Hive was built using the Unity 3-D engine, allowing for amazing detail of the desert planet, called “JSE-5284,” or “New Eden.” It is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems.
