New Trailer and Demo Out for Courier of the Crypts
Lots of interesting information has dropped about Emberheart Games’ Courier of the Crypts .
. Delivering mail to the dead sounds like an odd job, but when doing so involves solving clever puzzles, manipulating traps to trick your enemies, and combat against dangerous monsters using a magical torch, it also seems like it will be a lot of fun. If you’re not sold on that idea yet, perhaps the new trailer for the game that released alongside its IndieGoGo campaignwill get you more interested in the postal service of the dead. Better still, if the trailer and concept aren’t interesting enough for you, you can try out the new demobefore deciding if it’s worth a pledge.
The demo for Courier of the Crypts is an early-development preview of what one-man-team Emberheart Games has been working on for the past four years. While not perfect, it will show players the various uses and hindrances that come from having to rely on a torch to stay alive. As the game’s most important tool, players need to keep that torch lit, but only at the right times. Knowing when to douse that flame to save some for important situations later is key to getting through the demo. It also shows off how lighting affects monsters and puzzles, driving home just how important that flickering light is as a gameplay mechanic.
