is a new point-and-click title by developer Royal Troupe. Players take on the role of a lazy herald named Feste, whose aspirations seem to fall somewhere between sleeping and eating. Like many other video game heralds, Feste has the singular task of presenting a hero with a call to adventure. Feste’s plans soon fall apart, and players must guide him on an unforeseen journey down the Interworld Road. Feste won’t be alone, however, as he is aided on his quest by an ill-tempered innkeeper, who also happens to be a pregnant mother of five.
The Russia-based development team has been working on Message Quest for approximately two years. The title is heavily inspired by The Hobbit , The Chronicles of Narnia , and the art of Studio Ghibli. It also features traditional puzzle mechanics and a comedic battle system influenced by Japanese role-playing games. But perhaps the most distinctive aspect of the game is its stained-glass graphic style and a dialogue system that allows players to control both sides of a conversation.
Message Quest releases today, October 22, for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The game is available through Steamfor $2.99 and is expected to launch on iOS and Android devices in 2016. For more information, check out Message Quest on Twitter, Facebook, and on the official website.
