An upcoming zombie arena shooter for the PlayStation 4 will feature interesting audience mechanics to liven up a player’s experience while fighting. The game is titled # killallzombies , and it’s being developed by Beatshapers.
The game takes place in an interactive arena where hundreds of zombies keep spawning to attack the player, who can pick up boosts and powerups, and also gain levels to unlock new perks, similar to Crimsonland . The arena itself, composed of hexagonal pieces, frequently restructures itself, dynamically affecting gameplay, while simultaneously spawning obstacles like cars. There will be seven guns available at launch, with different kinds of ammo, such as toxic or freezing.
As the social hashtag in the title suggest, # killallzombies wants to emphasize social features. Streaming via PlayStation 4’s Twitch integration will let the viewers vote and integrate with the gamplay. For instance, they can vote on perks that pop up when leveling up, granting a bonus if the player decides on the popular one. More interestingly, the audience will frequently be able to decide the form of the next encounter, or cause game-changing events. Finally, they can affect the player directly by entering commands which buff or debuff, or even do weird things like switch up controls and the camera. (It should be noted that these features are optional.) Oddly enough, # killallzombies doesn’t seem to feature multiplayer.
The game is set for PlayStation 4 sometime this quarter, and you can check out the Beatshaper website herefor more info.
