The Villium Shards – Fantasy Action RPG Developed by Portsmouth University Students

Indie development studio Turtle Squadron, made up of six Computer Games Technology students at Portsmouth University, are excited to bring us news about their in-development game, The Villium Shards .

. An action RPG adventure set in an original fantasy setting, the project is currently on Kickstarter for necessary funding and exposure.

The Villium Shards puts players in control of a young adventurer who must somehow find the link between the death of the main character’s parents, a meteor that destroyed a far off city, a prosthetic arm that looks and feels like a real one, and the sudden appearance of magic within the world. Using the game’s top-down action-adventure gameplay, the player sets out to answer these mysteries and solve the chaos outside their home. The game allows players to choose from four classes, Sorcerer, Hunter, Knight, and Shadow; and provides a unique magical ability that allows players to rebuild certain parts of the world, such as a long-destroyed bridge, or the stonehenge-like formation that creates a portal to another land.

The Kickstarter campaignfor The Villium Shards will end on March 13th, and will only be successful if they reach a pledge of £5,000. For more information about this game, gamers are encouraged to follow the developers on twitter, or to visit their Facebookpage.
