Swords & Soldiers’ Headed To The 3DS

‘Swords & Soldiers’ Headed To The 3DS
The side scrolling strategy game Swords & Soldiers will be getting the 3D treatment for the Nintendo 3DS later this year.

Originally created by Ronimo Games (the team behind last years hit Awesomenauts ), this new 3D edition will be handled by Hong Kong studio Circle Entertainment , themselves a long time supporter of original DSi and eShop software.

Swords & Soldiers combines a quirky 2D side scroller with an element of real time strategy, involving vikings, aztecs and the occasional humorous joke. On the left hand side you’ll have your base, where you create an assortment of character classes who then scroll across to the right towards the deadly enemy or whatever trap may be lying in wait. The title was originally well received when it debuted on the Nintendo Wii and has since gone on to make appearances on PC, Apple iPad, Android and Sony PlayStation products among others

There is the possibility of exclusive content for the 3DS, according to initial words from Circle Entertainment themselves, although it must be said that nothing has been officially announced as yet. Likewise there’s no info on what to actually expect with this port, whether the entire original game and previous DLC and updates will be included or whether multiplayer modes will be supported. Here’s hoping all of that makes the cut.

No doubt we’ll have more on that when the news breaks, but in the meantime you can visit the official website via the link right here.
