HeroCraft Announces Tempest – Pirate Ship Naval Combat RPG
HeroCraft recently announced the development of their new pirate RPG, Tempest.
The game will initially be released for iOS, and will have Android and PC versions not long after. HeroCraft expects to have the game ready for release sometime before the end of this year’s fourth quarter.
The gameplay in Tempest will focus primarily on ship-to-ship sea battles, using RPG elements mixed with the tense, somewhat slow-paced combat gamers might recognize from games like Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag . Players will be able to fight against multiple enemies, and the developers promise that the battle system’s versatility will allow for different battle tactics, depending on the type of ship and weaponry the player has selected.
There are also several magic artifacts and powers that the players may use, and will have to contend with; some are even powerful enough to summon creatures like the fearsome Kraken. The game is being developed using the Unity 3D engine, providing detailed graphics and allowing for cooperative multiplayer battles, as well as the more traditional deathmatches.
Gamers can look forward to a few other features within Tempest , including customization options that affect the aesthetic look of the ship, as well as its functionality in combat.
