Verlies II is set around a village near the dungeon, where a player can access many different services including a blacksmith, inn, magic shop, merchant, and so on. The game uses comic-style graphics and stills to portray the action, most of it through a first-person perspective. Players can select one of 8 adventurers to dive into many a near-death scenario, and try to make their way to the deepest recesses of the dark structure. The dungeon uses procedurally-generated floors for varied playthroughs, placing several monsters, traps, puzzles, and other dangers in the path of the player, as well as hundreds of unique treasures. Careful playing will likely uncover more rewards, as death is permanent and can come swiftly from the many different monsters aiming for you.
