Video: Killer Queen and the value of embracing the arcade community

In this interesting GDC 2016 talk, Josh DeBonis and Nikita Mikros of BumbleBear Games discuss the unique and vocal community that's growing around their 5-on-5 competitive arcade game Killer Queen .

They explain how, where, and why this community has coalesced, plus how fans have started hosting tournaments, league nights, and online groups. What's more, they dig into how the community has shaped the way they've designed and refined Killer Queen , and offer some advice for fellow devs looking to embrace their local arcade communities.

It was a great talk about a topic that's rarely broached in game development circles, since so few teams work on arcade games these days. If you missed it in person, you can now watch the whole thing for free via the official GDC YouTube channel.
