Armello Brings Tabletop Gaming to Life

League of Geeks, an Australian based group have created a digital tabletop gaming experience called Armello .

. Currently they are running a Kickstarter campaign to get that final funding push that will bring the game to completion.

Deeply loved by his people, the King of Armello is known for his kindheartedness. Now, a terrible and mysterious illness of Rot has come, poisoning his mind. Thus, the Great Clans of Armello have risen up and sent their greatest warriors to take over the throne.  After choosing your hero you will be able to plot and overcome countless obstacles in your quest. Of course there is more than one way to achieve this goal. You can secure your place as successor after the king’s death, take the throne by force, attempt to find healing powers for the king, or fall victim to the rot yourself and usher in a reign of darkness.

You will use action points to move around the board and complete quests, increase your earnings, meet new characters, explore, fight and so much more during your turn. To keep that tabletop feel the battle system uses a physics based dice system. Once your turn is over you are far from idle, there are alliances to form (always temporary), items to equip, talents to acquire and followers to enlist.

The campaign has raised about half of their goal and has 21 days of funding left. Armello will be available for iPad as well as PC/Mac/Linux on Steam. More details can be found on the website.
