Take Back a School from the Undead in Zombie Playground

is an online, team-based, third-person arena action shooter, with RPG elements laced throughout. The game was originally Kickstarted successfully by Massive Black back in 2012. After years of internal development, members of that team broke away to form Stealth Studios last year in order to complete the project. Stealth Studios then brought on Abyssal Arts and Titutech to help complete the game.

Zombie Playground takes place in an imaginary zombie apocalypse viewed through the eyes of kids who are creating the world around them. Their school is overrun by undead monsters and it’s up to them to do whatever it takes to survive. Players will battle hordes of the undead and explore the world, while also unlocking new missions, outfits, abilities and bonuses to help them take on the increasingly dangerous challenges. The game also gives players the freedom to create the character they want using a wide range of weapons and abilities, ranging from brutal close range fighters to agile gunslingers.

The Windows PC build is already available for the game’s Kickstarter backers. For everyone else, Zombie Playground will hit Steam Early Access on Tuesday July 28. The Early Access version of the game will include multiple zombie types, including crawlers and the lethal adult zombies, a boss battle with ‘the horror of the hallways, the Janitor,’ dozens of character customization options, online co-op with up to 4 players, and more.
