Insects and Heroes Come Alive in Hollow Knight

If Shovel Knight married Ori and the Blind Forest, the resulting lovechild might look a bit like Hollow Knight, a mysterious 2D platformer that lets players explore the surreal world of Hollownest.

a mysterious 2D platformer that lets players explore the surreal world of Hollownest. Now live on Kickstarter, Hollow Knight is looking to bring its traditional animation, evocative artwork, and eerie and quirky characters to Steam.

Gameplay channels classics like Metroid , Zelda 2 , and Faxanadu, and promises to challenge and amaze players with its fluid and responsive action that simulates flowing through combat like water. As players trek through a vast kingdom, they discover new magical abilities, encounter and assist a bizarre lineup of characters, scour the world for hidden secrets-such as powerful artifacts and piles of riches, and even the chance to go ‘dream diving’- or delve into the minds of your friends and enemies. Adelaide-based developers Triple Cherry initially formed around game jams and have worked on previous titles in the past, however Hollow Knight is the culmination that encapsulates everything they love about games.

Hollow Knight is expected for release on PC, Mac, and Linux in June 2015. For more details pertaining to the game, check out Team Cherry’s website, visit their official Facebook page, and follow them on Twitter. You can back Hollow Knight on Kickstartertoday to receive a range of backer rewards, including a comic, original color artwork from the game, and an instruction manual.
