AMD debuts Sulon Q AR/VR headset, with integrated PC

Today AMD announced the AR/VR headset Sulon Q, which includes a Windows 10 PC with graphical acceleration -- allowing the headset to be tether-free and following quite a different path from competiton like the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift.

While it's essentially a VR headset, it also offers AR capabilities by passing through a live feed of what the user is in front of, and then overlaying graphics onto it -- it's a different approach than technologies like Hololens or Meta which project graphics onto a clear lens, which allows the user to directly perceive the world around them as normal.

The system includes an AMD FX-8800P processor and Radeon R7 graphics chip, with Windows 10 preinstalled.

You can get more details from the video above, the teaser site, or this CNET writeupwith the full specs. No price has been announced; the headset will be available "in the late spring" according to AMD.
