Co-op RPG Eon Altar Enhances PC Gaming with Mobile

The North American studio Flying Helmet Games, founded in 2012 by a group of veteran developers that worked on titles such as Mass Effect and LittleBigPlanet , wants to bring couch co-op experiences back with their new PC RPG, Eon Altar .

. The game is a local co-op game for up to 4 players that is enhanced by a smartphone app.

The episodic RPG intends to use mobile devices as a way to coordinate the characters’ movements and tactics. Eon Altar uses a turn-based combat system, and promises a “deep, innovative role-playing system.”

Choices players make in-game are supposed to have a huge impact on the gameplay and the fantasy setting, and their consequences will follow the team throughout the whole adventure. There will also be many different opportunities to interact with allies and enemies, and every conversation is going to feature voice-acted dialogues.

Whether players want help out their team or meet their own ends by working against them, Eon Altar is going to have room for both play-styles. Both the game on PC and the app for iOS and Android devices will be released simultaneously with Episode 1. So far the release date is still not decided, but the developers say it will be around the same time as PAX Prime.
