Star Saver – Eating and Inking Your Way To Victory
The sky at night is always a wonder to behold.
The sky at night is always a wonder to behold. Stars twinkling in the inky blackness, planets steadfastly shining above our heads; it’s inspiring, to say the least. Unfortunately, because of the pollution our lights float upward, it’s rare for many of us to see a proper night sky. Instead, it seems as though stars have been ripped away from our evenings, which, coincidentally, is exactly what happens in developer Pxlplz’s new game, Star Saver.
For Squidly the space squid, the stars were always a source of comfort. Squidly’s father always told him that, if he needed answers, he should look to the stars. Sage wisdom. What Squidly’s father failed to mention was what to look to when the stars are being stolen by greedy Kings from the Feed Me Galaxy. Luckily, Sir Squishy – a vaguely eggplant-shaped blue blob with a propensity for eating everything, and the Kirby-esque ability to change his shape and properties based on what he’s eaten – ends up literally chained to Squidly.
Together, they can fly, eat, and otherwise platform their way through three worlds and more than 24 levels. In addition to the obvious puzzle solving capabilities of Sir Squishy, Star Saver features physics-based puzzles, meaning you’re likely to be smashing buttons or flinging Sir Squishy in every direction as you traverse the game’s landscapes.
Star Saver ‘s developer, Pxlplz, is a two man studio that is releasing Star Saver for iOS devices tomorrow, August 14. Those interested in learning more about the game can watch the above video, visit Star Saver’s website, or politely harangue Pxlplz on Twitter.
