fans, and simultaneously an opportunity for newcomers. The long-time browser game transitioned to Steam with a slew of additional content.
Card Hunter mixes a lot of genres into a cross between Dungeons & Dragons and card games: It’s a turn-based deck-building game that features tactical combat and fantasy role-playing. In the main single-player campaign, players create a party to tackle Black Oozes, Flying Monkeys, and other dungeon monsters. As they venture forward, the party finds equipment such as weapons and armor, used as cards.
For the first time, Card Hunter features a cooperative gameplay mode included in the new expansion, Expedition to the Sky Citadel . A rebellious mastermind computer, Cardotron 2000, armed in glorious 4k RAM, has dark intentions of manipulating an army of mutants and robots to take over Cardhuntria. Those who prefer competitive gameplay can always queue up in casual or ranked online matches.
Card Hunter is free-to-play, but there’s a bunch of optional, paid add-on bundles to expand the experience. The Basic Edition adds new Treasure Hunt adventures, extra figures, and in-game currency; Attack of the Artifacts features new content, while Expedition to the Sky Citadel includes the new cooperative mode against Cardotron 2000. They’re currently being offered at discounted prices.
