Absurd Platformer ‘Potatoman Seeks The Troof’ On Its Way To Mobile

Indie favourites PixelJam Games , purveyors of excellent retro-themed games, are bringing their unique brand of pixel absurdity to iOS, Android, and OUYA with Potatoman Seeks The Troof .

.  If you missed the game when it originally arrived on PC in late 2012… well, it’s a tricky one to explain. Watching the video below is perhaps the best idea.

A ‘potatosophical’ platformer, PixelJam promise that the game packs a high level of challenge and that the titular Potatoman eventually discovers the meaning of his humble life.  It will also ‘make you question everything you thought you knew about potatoes’, apparently. Wake up to The Troof, people!

As you’ve probably already realised, there’s nothing out there quite like Potatoman Seeks The Troof. On top of the bizarre sense of fun, the game also has a suitably toe-tappy soundtrackand charmingly rudimentary, almost Atari 2600-esque graphics. It’s stuff like this that makes me so, so happy to be covering indie games. It simply could not exist in any other medium.

PixelJam have stated that they expect the OUYA release to come first, followed by iOS and then Android. ‘Droid is the hardest porting prospect, apparently.

If you can’t wait for the Mobile release, then you can get your grubby mitts on the PC, Mac, and Linux versions for only $3 from the PixelJam website.
