Games set in space are rising, and for those that are yet to pilot their own spaceships, maybe now is the time. Raven Sword Industries, a team of developers from Canada, want players to use their brand new ships to destroy their opponents in Project Orion .
Inside the cockpit of Project Orion , players will experience a story driven, single-player campaign fighting other ships in large scale battles. The main focus of combat is to control ally squadrons and develop group tactics, putting the player in charge of their own fleets. Apart from that, players will also have to deal with complex ship strategies.
When in control of their own scouts and spaceships, players will resort to energy routing to deal with various combat situations. This energy can be focused on specific tasks such as creating a shield to protect the hull, boosting the ship to flee, or even blasting stronger shots at the enemy. As expected, the energy distribution enhances the performance for some tasks while also lessening performance in other areas.
An extensive ship customization system is also planned, where players will be able to build ships from brute force to damage-taking tanks.
Project Orion will be available for PC only and was Greenlitin less than 6 days. The developers are also running a Kickstarter campaignto get help for the game’s funding, which ends on June 12. Players who donate $15+ can guarantee their digital copies of the game. For more information, visit the game’s official website.
